Chef Rob’s love of food and passion for cooking began as a child growing up in the South. He was taught the art of cooking with love and care by his beloved grandmother and continued to hone his craft at the New York Restaurant College in Manhattan. Upon graduation he began his career at the 205th Club on 5th Avenue in New York City. After that he became the Director of Catering at the Historical Branch of the Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C., catering for inaugural balls, dignitaries and political figures. After a successful decade of working on the east coast, Chef Rob moved to Hawaii and realized his professional dream of opening his own catering business and Food for the Soul was born.
Today Chef Rob caters for a wide variety of functions from intimate affairs to large estate weddings and corporate events here on the beautiful island of Maui. Chef Rob believes in being completely present in the moment as he creates each dish with love, he believes that food feeds your soul and should evoke emotion and positive feelings. With his southern roots and positive mindset, he takes pride in bringing people joy through a shared meal, using only the highest quality, locally sourced ingredients for your special day.
